Financing Your Transformation
Generally, our non-surgical procedures and products are not covered by insurance or health sharing plans. Surgical procedures may be covered, only if "medically necessary", pursuant to law and your plan's medical policies. Dr. McGee is in-network with many Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO/HMO plans, including many out-of-state plans, as well as traditional Medicare. For all other uninsured patients (self-pay), any combination of cash, credit, debit, personal check, Care Credit and/or Patient Fi may be used to take care of clinic fees. Local hospitals will generally take cash, credit, debit and Care Credit. Patients are encouraged to reach out to the patient advocacy/accounts representative at their surgical venue for more information.
In-Network Insurance:
- Contact your insurance/health sharing plan's benefits team to determine if your desired procedure might be covered and if there are any exclusions on coverage.
- If potentially covered, obtain and fax a referral to (337) 270.7039. Strong referrals are most likely to be covered. A strong referral includes one or more diagnoses, derivative co-morbidities, a track record of failed conservative measures and a referral to plastics to treat the patient's condition(s).
- Numerous factors, such as plan, co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, out-of-pocket maximums and other limitations will affect your financial responsibility.
- The prices on this site are for non-surgical services and products. Surgical prices, which are fully quoted to patients following consultation, do not include peripheral services/product fees, e.g. pharmacy, lab, non-included medical supplies.
- If on Medicare, call 1-800-MEDICARE, or visit the website at www.mymedicare.gov for information about your benefits and responsibilities.
Out-Of-Network Insurance:
- McGee Plastic Surgery takes Out-of-Network cases on as-able basis, provided the patient has "Out-of-Network benefits" for their desired procedure(s). Qualifying referrals are placed on a waitlist and called back for consult scheduling, in the order in which they were received. See above for referral guidance. Keep in mind that many consultations may require Prior Authorization.
- If on Medicaid or Medicaid-pending, contact your plan, the local Medicaid office 337-237-8119, or visit the Louisiana Department of Health about your benefits and responsibilities.
